The need for robust emergency care systems is needed now more than ever before. Abu Dhabi has been developing all necessary policies, strategies, and standards while working relentlessly on utilizing modern technologies and enhancing the culture of innovation in order to efficiently and effectively respond to crises
Disaster Medicine is a discipline that works to prepare health systems and personnel to respond to all manner of disasters. Today marks the start of an initiative to develop skills and knowledge on the core principles of Disaster Medicine; and it is my honour to welcome you all to The Abu Dhabi International Disaster Medicine Conference (ADIDMC).
This conference lays the foundation to train and prepare response stakeholders, and to share and enhance the knowledge of professionals from emergency medical services, hospital-based medical and nursing staff, and humanitarian response organizations. for dealing with both manmade and natural disasters.
I strongly believe that forming a strong network through this ADIDMC conference will empower all of us and lay a path to create multidisciplinary cooperation and coordination at local, regional, and international levels.
On behalf of the ADIDMC Organizing and Scientific Committee, I would like to welcome you to ADIDMC and I am looking forward to having you with us for this first edition.
